Etsy is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Fraud team, which maintains the trust and confidence of Etsy Buyers and Sellers in our marketplace’s safety. This includes detecting and mitigating credit card fraud, collusion & merchant fraud, gift card abuse, and other monetary scams. We build and maintain controls to detect abusive behavior; integrates services across Etsy; and develops agent tooling and workflows. Fraud partners directly with an embedded Applied Machine Learning team and with many organizations at Etsy, including Trust and Safety, Payments Engineering, and Security.
The ideal candidate has experience fighting fraud in an online setting and is a creative, proven leader with excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication skills. You are inspired to take on the challenges of protecting a global marketplace!
This is a full-time position, (eventually) located in Brooklyn or SF, reporting to the Engineering Director of Trust & Safety. We are considering remote candidates based in the US for this position. Etsy offers three different work modes to meet the variety of needs and preferences of our team: Flex mode for candidates who are comfortable traveling to an office location 2+ times per week, Remote mode, and Office-based mode.
