You will be responsible for creating the next level of insights for Administrators into the usage of their Tableau Online site. The Admin Experience team is responsible for ensuring that a site Administrator for an Online site has all the data that they need to make informed decisions. This work involves creating a close working relationship with PM team to ensure that our solutions are meeting the needs of the customer. Tableau Online continues to be the fastest-growing product in Tableau and as such these services have to continue to scale to meet the increasing demand. Tableau Online is a hosted visual analysis product suite that allows people to share rich interactive stories about data. Thousands to millions of people will use your software, either directly by creating and contributing content, or indirectly by encountering it embedded into other sites on the Internet.

  • Ensuring Tableau Online meets the functional requirements of large enterprise customers. This work will require expanding the capabilities of existing services, as well as building new ones to meet our customer’s needs.

  • Work with the existing teams to ensure that their services are meeting the needs of Enterprise customers.

  • Ensure that new and existing architecture can scale to meet the growth of our Online customer base.

  • Become a voice for cloud-first architecture across the company. Help influence other teams to ensure that their solutions scale to meet the continuing demands of the Online world.

  • Experience in coding and have a passion for solving complex problems.

  • Development skills with object-oriented languages (Java, C++, C#) and preferably web technologies and development tools (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) as well.

  • Experience developing large-scale cloud applications.

  • Dev-Ops mindset. You are engaged in all aspects of software deployment and think beyond just getting your code checked in. You build and run a highly polished test and release pipeline, and have a bias for automation. You find areas that require manual intervention and work to remove them semantically.

  • Highly Technical. You understand what it takes to write software that is used by thousands or millions of people. You love writing things that “just work” – things that are robust, scalable, and that perform well.

  • A True Team Player. Team success and company impact are more important to you than personal recognition. You are open to new ideas and are willing to question established ideas. You care more about the right thing and less about being perceived as right.
